GPA Calculation
If you are unfamiliar, here is how you can calculate your GPA if your college already doesn't have it calculated for you. You basically take the grade you get for a class, multiply it by the number of credits it was worth, add all of the values together for all of the classes, then divide by the total number of credits.
Here is the typically used scale for the weight of each grade:
And here is an example of doing the math for a semester:

Keep in mind: OptomCAS gives a GPA breakdown for prerequisites, specific science classes, and so on. You will not be able to hide from optometry schools, and they will be able to see exactly how you preformed in school.
Here's an example of my breakdown.
Certain schools do care more about specific parts of your GPA, so feel free to contact each school about how they choose to look at it. As an overall rule, just keep your GPA as high as you can and try to have as little failing grades and withdraws as possible. If you do, don't worry, some schools will only look at your latest grade, some schools don't care at all, but make sure to reach out to each school if you are worried about how they will view some of the unsatisfactory parts of your transcript.
